Mommatic
I was talking to @TheRealSamChang and I realized I’ve never talked about the influence of Mommatic.
When I was starting out the only person that believed that I could DJ was my mom. After I got my first equipment that I owned, she would buy me records. Keep in mind that I was like 12 or 13 years old at this point and didn’t have a job. Mommatic would go to the record stores and buy whatever the hottest joints out were. She would come home with at least 10 records every week and just give it to me.
Mommatic always told me to practice and get good. She always supported me. Either dropping me off or taking me to DJ Battles, driving me to gigs or whatever. What makes all this even more important, is that Mommatic isn’t a rich lady. She’s a hard working woman that will always be that way. Even when we didn’t have money to do stuff, she always found a way to help me work on my craft. Constantly telling me “you better practice” and so forth.
The reason I’m as good as I am is because of my mom and nobody else.
I love my mom.
